When do i put my container out for pickup?
Waste and recycling should be curbside by 7:00 a.m. Route times may vary depending on circumstances such as weather, etc.
Can i request an extra pickup?
Absolutely! We simply request at least 24 hours notice if the extra pickup is needed. Contact us here to request an extra service. Extra service fees apply.

how do i handle bulky items?
Bulky items including tires, furniture, and appliance can be collected for a small fee. Please notify us in advance to schedule service and notify us of the bulky items you intend to dispose of so we can properly quote your collection. For larger quantities, we can also provide a small roll-off container.

Can i pause my service?
Yes, paused service is available if needed for four months or longer. A request for service suspension is required including your pause start date and estimated resume date. Please request your service pause here.
How does recycling work?
Single stream recycling is coming in 2026. Until then, we can provide 22-gallon bins, 95-gallon carts, or dumpsters for cardboard. Acceptable items include cardboard, paper, aluminum and tin cans, glass bottles and jars, and plastics #1-7 excluding Styrofoam.
Is composting available?
Yard waste and wood waste can be taken to the City of Gunnison tree dump located at 137 CR 51. Please contact the City for operating details.
How can I prevent bears from getting into my trash?
For residential service, bear-resistant trash carts are available for a fee. Alternatively, make sure your waste is in a container with a secure lid, double bag your waste to minimize odors, and clean your can regularly.
For dumpster service, locking devices are available for a fee. Dumpsters with thick gauge steel are also available.
In addition, sprinkling vinegar around your receptacle will detract bears from your waste due to the off-putting smell.

Someone is dumping in my container. what can i do?
Dumpster locking devices are available for a small fee. Additionally, you can report the issue to the local authorities as theft of service.
My trash was missed. why?
Oops! This could have happened for a variety of reasons including weather delays, a blocked container, past due account, late put out, or a simply an error on our end (no one is perfect, but we try to be). Check our home page for updates on service delays due to weather, and contact us if you were missed. We can review footage from our truck cameras and chat with our crews to determine what happened and get you cleaned up.
